Why masons are tested before shortlisting
Masonry is where rework is most visible and least forgivable. A wall out of plumb, or plaster that cracks in the first summer, is a cost you carry to handover. The test is simple: put the man on the work and look at what he produces.
The recruitment licence is held by Taj HR Services — B-3252/DEL/PER/1000+/5/11251/2025, issued by India’s Ministry of External Affairs — and every deployment to Oman runs through it.
What the masonry test covers
Block work to line and level
Courses, plumb, joint thickness and consistency, checked with the instruments your engineer would use.
Plastering and finish
Coverage, surface flatness, corners and edges. Finish quality is what the client sees and what triggers snag lists.
Mix and material handling
Ratios, water discipline and curing awareness. Most cracking is a curing failure, not a skill failure.
Speed against standard
Output measured together with quality, because either one alone is misleading.
Certificates and papers
Formal certification is uncommon in this trade and we do not manufacture any. What you receive is the assessment, an honest account of prior project experience, and full document and medical status.
Alongside the trade papers, every candidate’s passport and ECR status, approved medical, police clearance and eMigrate PoE clearance are sequenced so nothing expires while your visa is in process.

What employers ask about masons
Do you supply masons together with helpers?
Yes, and the ratio matters. Tell us your gang structure and we will propose a mix rather than sending skilled men to carry material.
Can they do both block work and plaster?
Many can, some are clearly stronger in one. The assessment states which, so your planning is realistic.
Do you cover tiling and finishing trades?
Ask separately. Tiling is its own trade and we will not present a mason as a tiler.
How do you judge speed without sacrificing quality?
Both are measured in the same test. A fast man producing poor work fails, and so does a slow man producing good work at half the required output.
