Why mechanics are tested before shortlisting
A mechanic is hired to shorten downtime. One who replaces parts until the fault disappears costs you more in spares and lost hours than his salary ever saves. We test diagnosis first and replacement second.
The recruitment licence is held by Taj HR Services — B-3252/DEL/PER/1000+/5/11251/2025, issued by India’s Ministry of External Affairs — and every deployment to Oman runs through it.
What the mechanical test covers
Fault diagnosis on a live unit
The man is given a fault and asked to find it. His method of narrowing down tells you whether he thinks or guesses.
Systems knowledge
Fuel, hydraulics, cooling, air and electrical systems at the depth his claimed level requires.
Tooling and measurement
Torque work, clearances, gauges and the discipline to measure rather than estimate.
Workshop practice
Cleanliness, part handling, and whether he records what he did — the habits that decide whether your maintenance history is worth anything.
Certificates and papers
ITI Motor Mechanic and Diesel Mechanic certificates go with the profile where held, alongside previous fleet or workshop service records. Light vehicle experience and heavy equipment experience are stated separately.
Alongside the trade papers, every candidate’s passport and ECR status, approved medical, police clearance and eMigrate PoE clearance are sequenced so nothing expires while your visa is in process.

What employers ask about mechanics
Do you supply heavy equipment mechanics specifically?
Yes, but not in the same volume as general mechanics. Tell us the machines and brands and we will tell you what we actually have.
Can they work from service manuals in English?
The assessment covers it and reports per man, rather than claiming it across every candidate.
Do you supply auto electricians as well?
Ask. Auto electrical is a separate skill and we do not let a mechanic stand in for one on paper.
Can our workshop foreman test them by video?
Yes. We arrange the candidates, the unit and the tools, and your foreman runs the assessment from Oman.
