Why ac technicians are tested before shortlisting
In the UAE, air conditioning is a year-round service load, not a seasonal one. A technician who installs well but cannot diagnose leaves you with a callback backlog and an unhappy building manager.
The recruitment licence is held by Taj HR Services — B-3252/DEL/PER/1000+/5/11251/2025, issued by India’s Ministry of External Affairs — and every deployment to the UAE runs through it.
What the AC test covers
Fault-finding on a live unit
A unit with a fault, and the man has to find it. How he narrows it down tells you more than any certificate.
Gas handling and pressure work
Charging, recovery, leak detection and gauge reading, and whether he works cleanly with refrigerant.
Brazing and pipework
Copper joint quality, insulation and support — the work that decides whether a system leaks in year two.
Electrical side of the unit
Contactors, capacitors, thermostats and control wiring. A technician who cannot test the electrical side is half a technician.
Certificates and papers
ITI Refrigeration and Air Conditioning certificates and prior Gulf service records go with the profile. Installation experience and maintenance experience are stated separately, because they are different hires.
Alongside the trade papers, every candidate’s passport and ECR status, approved medical, police clearance and eMigrate PoE clearance are sequenced so nothing expires while your entry permit is in process.

What employers ask about ac technicians
Do you supply chiller technicians?
Yes, but in smaller numbers than split and package men. Tell us the equipment and we will say honestly what we have.
Are they used to high ambient temperatures?
Men from Indian summers are, and those with prior Gulf service more so. We state each man’s actual background instead of generalising.
Can they handle a maintenance round unsupervised?
Some can, and the assessment says which. We do not send a fresh installer into an unsupervised service role.
Do your technicians hold refrigerant handling certification?
Only where they genuinely do, and the document goes with the profile. We do not claim it otherwise.
