Why carpenters are tested before shortlisting
Carpentry in the UAE splits sharply into two jobs: shuttering on structure, and finishing on fit-out. A good shuttering carpenter can be a poor finisher and the other way round, and hiring the wrong one costs you either a concrete defect or a snag list.
The recruitment licence is held by Taj HR Services — B-3252/DEL/PER/1000+/5/11251/2025, issued by India’s Ministry of External Affairs — and every deployment to the UAE runs through it.

Shuttering: line, level and bracing
Formwork set to line, properly braced and tight enough that grout does not escape. Concrete finish is decided here.
Finishing: joints and surfaces
Joinery accuracy, edges, fixings and the finish quality a client actually sees.
Measurement and marking
Take-offs, cutting lists and accuracy, because rework in carpentry is pure lost material and time.
Tool and machine handling
Power tool discipline and safety, including guard use — an area where shortcuts cause the worst injuries.
Certificates and papers
ITI Carpenter certificates and previous project records go with the profile where held. The assessment states clearly whether a man is a shuttering carpenter, a finishing carpenter, or genuinely both.
Alongside the trade papers, every candidate’s passport and ECR status, approved medical, police clearance and eMigrate PoE clearance are sequenced so nothing expires while your entry permit is in process.

What employers ask about carpenters
Do you supply shuttering and finishing carpenters separately?
Yes, and we insist on the distinction. Sending a shuttering man to a fit-out job helps nobody.
Can they work from joinery drawings?
The test includes it and reports per man rather than as a blanket claim.
Do you supply carpenters with helpers?
Yes. Tell us your gang structure and we will propose a ratio instead of sending skilled men to carry material.
Do you cover aluminium and glass fabrication?
Ask separately. That is a different trade and we will not present a carpenter as an aluminium fabricator.
